Over the past 50 years, Zahnradfabrik Neviges has developed from a one-man operation into a highly specialized manufacturer of gearwheels and gear units used around the world. Today, the company employs more than 180 people on a production area of 10,000 m2. From the outset, the company has specialized in the production of gearwheels and transmission parts as well as the assembly of complete gear units.
Thanks to wide-ranging know-how and many years of experience in the field of drive technology, we guarantee production at the highest technical level and are amongst the most innovative gear manufacturers in Europe. As a competent partner, we supply manufacturers of agricultural and road building machines, general machinery and system builders as well as the fields of defense technology, naval gear units, engine construction and wind energy: On the basis of a flexible, modern fleet of machines, we meet every expectation placed on a competent supplier – whether for large parts weighing up to 20 tonnes or small production runs:

1969 Zahnradfabrik Neviges is founded by Wolfgang Schmahl
1975 The business moves to its present site
1980 Expansion of the company premises
1998 Martin Schmahl joins the company to take over the reins
2007 Construction of an additional production hall
2012 Creation of a new shipping and logistics center
2013 Expansion of the company site by a further 6,000 m2
2016 Expansion by a further adjacent site of 3,500 m² and the integration of Alfred Baron GmbH as a specialist for the turning of large parts
2018 Construction of a modern assembly shop for drive axles and transmissions with a paint shop and an end-of-line test bench
2019 – 2020 Installation of an innovative, automated vacuum hardening plant for heat treatment and expansion of a production hall
2021 Expansion of the vacuum hardening plant for heat treatment
